is 23 too old for me to start pointe ballet ?

I guess this question is for all dancers:
I danced non professionally for several years aged 11-18. Then quit, and I have since done nothing that is truly athletically challenging. I really want to return to ballet and I have an ultimate goal of dancing on pointe especially. At 23, 5"8 and 105 lbs.- am I too old or tall for pointe?
I would like to start immediately, and get the shoes, and begin, but I am not sure how at home I could begin and know I am ready?

You have a great body for ballet & you're never too old for ballet either.

However, after taking such a long break, I doubt they'll put you on pointes right away. You're going to have to re-learn the basics of ballet, get core strength, leg/ankle/feet streight, balance, etc. before you can get back onto pointe. Since you've danced in the past, however, I'm sure you'll be able to get onto pointe quickly! But don't rush into them because it's dangerous!!!
