Shearing Boots
returning from a local drive on my 1982 Harley 1340, I noticed after parking and stopping a bike burning "?
The smell of my blackrubber boot that covers solnoid solnoid was fired the burner i start on the job and noticed a large diameter? possitive was "Burning Red", he actually got red!, immeadeately i unplugged the neg and pos battery after day to try my luck seveal diagnostic work, I decided to start out oticed the gear switch was sheared as if t was jambed!, you can help explain what was the cause and what the repair or relaces necessary, also can you tell me what color the son to and from the relay solnoid, and starter Thanks Dave.
sounds as if your inside a solenoid short circuit to ground. and he was hitting on the starter that caused the shear rate during execution. it was glowing because of an infinite amount of current passing through it. Regarding wiring color codes, obtain a repair manual factory Harley. patterns will be there. Might want to check and make sure your button starting is good working order too. (Button down the wall socket button is released, open contact) He runs the place the starter was engaged all the time would be a problem too. Hope this helps
