The Mazda2 is manufactured and sold in Platinum Silver and Liquid Silver Metallic, what is the difference?

The Mazda2 is sold outside of the US in Platinum Silver and inside of the US in Liquid Silver Metallic, are these two colors the same? What is the difference between the two shades?

The consensus on various online forums is that the liquid platinum silver looks slightly different in different lighting situations. It can look almost lavenderish or bluish at times.

As far as the liquid metallic silver goes, it seems to be a shiny smooth pewter that isn't bland at all!

One thing is for sure, Mazda knows how to do silver well. Mazda brought out new colors for the 2008 Mazda 6 line-up and I got myself a silver metallic 6. I love it. Very sharp. Very shiny.
