Can you spray gold spray over a silver chrome surface?

Hi there, i asked a question similar a few minutes ago and based on the answers can you tell me this now can i get gold spray and spray it over this silver chrome plate on this light, please see an image of what i want to spray gold

I tried spray painting my kitchen cabinet handles and knobs with a brushed-nickel spray paint and it looked like crap. I followed all the steps - cleaned each one and sanded, dusted them all off with a tack cloth, primed them with a primer spray paint then went over that with the metallic spray paint. It just looked very fake and ugly. If you are going to attempt this I would suggest you try it out on something similar before you go and paint the real thing. Good luck.
