Is Mac Good Enough for a Civil Engineer (College for Now)?

I will be going to Ohio University next fall and I need to buy a Laptop. I Really want a mac but im not sure if it will conflict with a civil engineering major. I know about Boot Camp but do Macs have the operating power to run all the programs I need? Will I need upgrades or should I just stick with a PC?

Most Business use PCs, and PCs are significantly less for better specs, look at the facts below.

1) Mac uses a subset of PC hardware but you pay significantly more for it.

ANOTHER OPTION: Dual boot with LINUX - You don't need to choose Windows or Linux... have both at no extra cost..
